Favorite Recipe
Pumpkin Oatmeal
1/2 cup oats (I prefer steel cut)
1/2 cup milk
2 Tablespoons canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix)
1 Tablespoon brown sugar
A sprinkle of cinnamon
Combine all ingredients except oats in microwave safe bowl. Stir until smooth. Add oats and stir until moist. Microwave on high for two minutes. Oatmeal will be very hot, so make sure you allow to cooling down time too.
For a little something extra, add raisins or a scoop of creamy peanut butter.
Yummy!

18 Months Already

It’s been a long time since I posted anything of substance on my blog. It’s not that we haven’t had anything exciting happen, I just haven’t felt inspired. We have experienced many firsts since the beginning of 2009. Noah had his first hair cut, went to Disneyland for the first time, saw and played in snow for the first time, went to the zoo for the first time and much much more. Noah recently turned 18 months and at the encouragement of others I’ve decided to write down some of the things he is doing right now.
Words Noah says:
Mama, Dada, bye-bye (ba-ba), cheese, kitty, medicine (me—me), banana (na-na), dog, Grandpa (Papa), Grandma (ohh-ma), ball, car, book, chair, tree, no, yeah, hot, cold, bath (ba), please (pees),cereal (ceral), nigh-night (nigh-nigh), monkey, mickey, Katelyn (key-la), binkie, Bentley, again, all done, all gone, shoes, Noah, uh-oh.
Noah’s Favorite Foods:
Cereal with milk- definitely his most favorite…any kind will do. Bananas, apples, homemade chicken fingers
Noah’s Favorite Activities:
Anything outside, being chased, playing with a ball, being pushed on his toy car, reading books

Noah's "Birthday"
On Saturday, Noah turned 14 months old. On Sunday we bought Noah his first pair of little boy shoes-- His feet are too big for the shoes in the baby department. I am not sure where the time has gone. When Noah was first born time seemed to go so slow but as I look back I realize just how fast it really went. This month, please join us in praying for Noah.
--Pray that he will continue to reach his physical and emotional developmental milestones
--Pray that the Lord would begin to work in his heart that he would be ready one day to accept Jesus Christ as his personal savior
--Pray that, as parents, we will learn how to work with him to channel his energy and enthusiasm toward good activities and wholesome behavior
